We want you to have a beautiful smile and healthy teeth! We have put some information together to make sure you are taking the best preventive care for your teeth.
Preventative care: At least every 6 months
If your teeth are in good condition, you should come to see us for a checkup at least twice a year. If your teeth are predisposed to problems, you should be on the safe side and make an appointment for preventative care regularly.
Our tip: Come in for a consultation and make the next appointment after each visit.
Start 'em early
Proper oral hygiene habits are learned early. As soon as your toddler can manage a toothbrush (24-30 months), supervised brushing instructions can create beneficial habits that last a lifetime. Remember, children under 6 should be supervised at all times as swallowing toothpaste can be harmful.
Camp and Bentley General Dentistry recommends a first dentist visit somewhere in the third year. Establishing regular visits at a young age has proven to improve the health and stability of adult teeth.
Maintain your healthy gums and teeth with routine cleanings in our office. If it’s been awhile, some times advanced care or deeper cleanings can be required. Developing a routine is an important step to improving the health of your mouth. We can help you get on track and stay there.
Dental sealants are similar to fillings. Tooth colored material flows into the tiny grooves and pits naturally occurring on teeth to prevent plaque from accumulating. This reduces the chance for dental caries, or tooth decay.
Digital x-rays show what is going on deep in the gums, in the bone around teeth and detect cavities, all with less radiation than traditional x-rays. Some studies say up to 90% less radiation is required for digital x-rays versus traditional films. Many cavities and other problems cannot be detected without them, so they are an important part of a dental exam.
