Preventative Dentistry

Cleanings

Maintain your healthy gums and teeth with routine cleanings in our office. If it’s been awhile, some times advanced care or deeper cleanings can be required. Developing a routine is an important step to improving the health of your mouth. We can help you get on track and stay there.

Digital X-rays

Digital x-rays show what is going on deep in the gums, in the bone around teeth and detect cavities, all with less radiation than traditional x-rays. Some studies say up to 90% less radiation is required for digital x-rays versus traditional films. Many cavities and other problems cannot be detected without them, so they are an important part of a dental exam.

Sealants

Dental sealants are similar to fillings. Tooth colored material flows into the tiny grooves and pits naturally occurring on teeth to prevent plaque from accumulating. This reduces the chance for dental caries, or tooth decay.

Nightguards

Nightguards are custom made for your upper or lower arch specifically. They are created to be worn every night while sleeping to help protect from both clenching and grinding habits. Wearing a nightguard helps protect from enamel wear, cracked or broken teeth and potential issues with your TMJ.

Fluoride Treatments

We are happy to offer multiple types of fluoride treatments in office including Fluoride Varnish and Silver Diamine Fluoride.

Oral Health Education

A huge portion of our dental mission is education. We are happy to help each patient create a customized routine that works not only best for their schedule, but also for the success of their oral health overall.

Oral Cancer Sreening

During each visit we perform a complete examination of the head, neck and mouth for potentional signs of cancer. We work with other specialist in the area if further evaluation is needed for any "abnormal" findings.

Nitrous Oxide

Our office provides nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, that can be utilized in situations with dental anxiety or discomfort. Let us know prior to your appointment if you would like to use this additional comfort during your appointment.

Healthy Teeth from A to Z.

We want you to have a beautiful smile and healthy teeth! We have put some information together to make sure you are taking the best preventive care for your teeth.

Preventative care: This can range from 3 to 6 month routine care.

Every mouth is different and we choose to treat every patient and their mouth to their specific and individual needs. On average we have a range of 3, 4 and 6 month recall appointments with your dental hygienist.

Our tip to stay on track: Be sure to make your next appointment before leaving each visit!

Start 'em early

Proper oral hygiene habits are learned early. Start brushing your childs teeth with fluoride toothpaste as soon as the first tooth erupts! Remember, children under 6 should be supervised at all times as swallowing toothpaste can be harmful.

Camp and Bentley General Dentistry recommends a first dentist visit in our office somewhere in the third year. Establishing regular visits at a young age has proven to improve the health and stability of adult teeth.
